07 ☆ Returning Returner
The Tree has seen fit to greet my return from the elevator with a flashy getup I cannot change out of and alterations to my personal effects. I suppose it confirms that one thing has not changed since I last wrote.
Youth, 00, Smoke, Mindelan, Gene, Huo & Hawk - My gratitude for your concerns. I am safe and sound. It was difficult to tell apart day and night back there, but from the cycle of eating and getting hungry, I estimate 1-2 days have passed. Yet, the number of journal pages filled suggests a longer period. How long have I been away? Imis would enjoy meeting you over a cup of tea or coffee. Or pie or pasta. Or anything, really. Foodless is fine too.
Dr Valeth and [Housekeeping NPC supervisor] - My apologies for the absence. I shall report for duty on Monday if it is acceptable to you. By acceptable I also refer to the long fringe trims on my jacket. They look awfully easy to get caught in things.
How did post-hurricane cleanup go for everyone? My house got through just fine, but the humidity seemed quite severe, judging from the state of my components rack. (Unlikely but) does anyone have a proper chamber oven for baking PCBAs? Otherwise I'll have to use a toaster oven but... not sure if the heat distribution's even enough.

[ooc: Mun feels like going local. For the Rockstar event, Stellaris is dressed as Anggun from her 90s 'lady rocker' days [1][2], meaning: red beret & garish fringe jacket, with black top, denim shorts and suede boots. Accessories include xbox hueg digital watch, at least 3 necklaces and enough bangles to compete with an Indian bride.]

Well, that was 3 sessions you missed so a little over 3 weeks.
I'm curious about this outfit you're decked out in, but more curious about what the heck a PCBA is.
no subject
Well, alright. I suppose that makes Sphere-sense. I'm rather curious whether spending time in that atmosphere would affect my muscles, so I'll be looking forward to our next session. Have you been well, Smoke?
Printed Circuit Board Assembly! It's [pause] what electronic devices are built of.
His handwriting is shaky btw
And I've been better. Slowly losing my mind and this is day 5.
That just makes my head hurt worse.

You have been ill for 5 days?
Do you need help going to the Clinic?

If this is still her first day back, she wouldn't have been working at the Clinic, huh? :(
this is her saying YAY I WAS WORRIED AND I MISSED YOU
00
and hers is I MISS YOU TOO i'm just embarrassed to write it that way

[The teahouse has so many different kinds of tea it's a little overwhelming for her.]

It's been a while–but it looks like you've already heard about that. Welcome back. I hope the elevator treated you decently, at least?
Clean up wasn't exactly a barrel of laughs, but we've come a good way. As far as I know, there aren't that many people having to resort to Temporary Housing anymore.
...I suppose suggesting a microwave would be out of the question?
no subject
Thank you, Gene. It isn't bad, I think. I got to frolic around in weightlessness.
Coming from you that suggestion amuses me, but sadly I would have you review pre-university physics for that.
no subject
I think the amnesia might make a review like that a touch problematic, so I'll just support the toaster oven idea.
no subject
See, I would have to modify the toaster oven a little, but then I would be worried about using it for food.

Why can't you just build your own oven? That's gotta be easy right?
no subject
The principle is workable, but considering we can only get parts from scavenging, it'd take some time to gather enough for a toaster oven, let alone a chamber oven. Especially when my existing stock's all damp, which is why I need to bake them in the first place.
If I were lucky the current Wilderness would have one. What state is it in, now?
no subject
If you're in a rush, why don't you use one of the craft people's kilns? I mean they have to exist somewhere right? I've seen people selling homemade things before. At least there you could control the temperature.
You're out of luck. It's a convention center. Lots of comics, video games and crowds, not a lot of computer parts and chamber ovens.
no subject
Hmm. Do they have computers for gamers? I've been wanting a handheld, but I missed the opportunity to find one in Tokyo. [Never mind everything she saw looked incredibly outdated, like something from centuries ago.]

I have been eating out all weekend because all these accessories made it troublesome to cook. But it's also an opportunity to try new things. Maybe you can recommend me a dish native to your world?
no subject
There is a very simple dish that Bell seems to like, ramen. And then there is also sushi. I am fond of curry, and I make a very tasty spicey one!

She dodged a bullet there...
lool it's not on purpose, I made her like Black's curry bread in another thread
Heehee.

Monday, 11/8 Quicklog Startup!
But lately he'd found himself meeting more and more people, expanding his social circle--heck he was even having friendly banter with the Captain of the Guard and his former enemy's close friend! He wasn't sure why it was happening and he was a little too scared to think about it too deeply. It was good to have friends. It was good (and normal) to meet new people.
These thoughts were all well and good but they did nothing to remove the look of shy nervousness from his face as he took a deep breath and placed a foot outside the lab.]
Hey Stellaris?
no subject
Hey! You're ready to go? I'm just finishing up here.
I forgot about the event and his punishment doh
Ready and waiting. Ah..just ...ignore the outfit. At least yours is nice. Less insulting too.
[Yeah that's what he got for pissing the sphere off]
So. The S-yard. Giant pile of junk and broken treasures from our pasts. A real destination spot. Can't think of a better lunch spot really.
[Yes someone was thrilled]
