Playgrounds are designed for use by children. Why do adults seem to derive enjoyment from it as well?

everyone like have fun. not always smart or grown up fun. but that okay.

If it is really fun for all, why only design the playground for children?

not say anywhere it just for children.

little sized. but maybe easier to build that way.

It can be inferred from the size. Like shoes or car seats. Equipments are designed with the targeted user in mind.
